A NEW KIND OF SOCIAL MEDIA

BubblAR is a disruptive new concept of a “Visual Social Media” (VSM)

One of the creative and innovative applications for the BubblAR system technology is the formation of an interpersonal Visual Social Media (VSM). VSM will be a unique network that operates as a real-time, real-world social AR methodology and which provides a short to medium distance and “face-to-face” experience that generates a novel and unique user experience. VSM utilizes Radio Frequency (RF) signals that locate, anchor and control Augmented Reality (AR) content in any real-world environment via the use of a person’s Smart Phone or an ALTag – a simple, small, inexpensive, personally carried electronic device (see the Intellectual Property page for an explanation of the BubblAR and ALTag technologies). BubblAR tech also has the potential to link other well known “home-page based” social media systems so that those forms of “distant” on the internet social media can become an active part of the real-world capabilities of the VSM network.

THE PROBLEM WITH CURRENT SOCIAL MEDIA

Everyone is so involved with their Social Media messaging that they rarely focus on the world around them. Even in a crowd of people, everyone is always looking “down” at their phones, at forms of social interaction taking place on distant servers and message platforms. “Social” is meant to be an interaction between people, connecting people, meeting people!

FIND PEOPLE AND MAKE CONNECTIONS WITH BUBBLAR

The basic feature of BubblAR as a Visual Social Media is its ability to be an “Ice-Breaker” that allows people to actually meet and greet other people – either at a distance or Face-To-Face. The BubblAR App is designed to provide the same types of features as other major Internet at a distance social media – allowing for connections to be established, “Friends” to join groups and messages to be sent. But only BubblAR actually lets you meet people and have real interpersonal interactions… conversations, coffee, join local groups of real people doing real things – a whole world of “real-world” possibilities!

CROWDS ARE NOT ALWAYS CROWDS OF STRANGERS

Look Up and out at the crowds of people that inhabit our lives. You may see a “sea” of BubblARs! There is always the opportunity to look for friends, find new contacts, seek adventure in the “Thoughts” of the local crowd. Only the BubblAR App will provide this glimpse into the minds of those around you who are as adventurous as you… as a BubblAR.

CREATE YOUR UNIQUE THOUGHT BUBBLE

Thought Bubbles (TB’s) will be completely customizable by any BubblAR User. The BubblAR App will come with a variety of standard “Thought Bubble” shapes to choose from. Users will be able to create their own TB’s in various graphics programs (Photoshop, etc.), and as the BubblAR VSM community grows in its number of users, an industry of artists will surely emerge to create specialized graphical TB’s on demand. Populating a User’s Thought Bubble in a Smart Phone’s BubblAR App will be as simple as dragging and dropping images, and typing in a message to complete the TB. Bubble controls will also be supplied in the App to set On-Off times and active days – as well as a schedule for switching between multiple TB’s that a User may have stored in their phone.

BubblAR AT SCHOOL

The BubblAR VSM is designed to have application as a Social App and as an Educational App. Users can easily switch between Social and Ed formats. Schools (Public, Private, k-12 and Colleges/Universities) can freely download the BubblAR ED App to help coordinate school activities with student Users of the BubblAR VSM

THE UNEXPECTED

Once a User is part of the VSM, they will never know when they can expect to see other BubblARs. That will be the beauty of looking around and seeing who and what you can find. The Thought Bubble of any BubblAR User can be thoughtful, funny, irreverent or any combination of emotions and mentality. What they won’t be are stale and what they will be is a door opener and mostly unexpected.

TRAVEL

BubblAR will be useful for many aspects of traveling. From making new friends to finding your bags, BubblAR open new windows on people, places and things. Many commercial venues – inside and outside of airports, bus & train stations – will use the BubblAR technology to assist and market to travelers with the VSM app in their phones.
